Eyeconic drops “New Bop”

Fresh from his appearance on Link Up TV’s Hardest Bars North East Cypher and BBC Radio’s 1Xtra Cypher, Newcastle-based rapper Eyeconic shows no signs of slowing down with his upcoming release, “New Bop”.

New Bop sets the tone as an intoxicating club banger; mixing the famous 4x4 house with dark trap undertones, perfectly capturing the night life that the North East is renowned for. The braggadocious lyrics are on par with the chaotic scene that Eyeconic paints through his lyricism, and with that a banger is born.

No stranger to experimental sounds, Eyeconic can often be seen going bar-for-bar in raves across the North East, with his pen game second to none. But, on this occasion it’s a house hit that takes his fancy, and yet his self assured performance rips through the production, proving his worth as a truly multi-faceted artist.

The Poland-born and Middlesbrough-raised artist has had nothing short of a culturally enriched upbringing and that certainly shines throughout his musical discography. House music can be found echoing from venue to venue in the North East club scene, and yet it’s Eyeconic’s new offering that truly sets him as a one to watch.

Speaking on the track, Eyeconic says “I wanted to combine the aspects of house with the darker themes of trap music. A lot of my friends listen to house, and initially I just wanted to make a song I could play for them in the car. After playing it for one of my friends, he told me ‘’this is the one’’ and from there on the rest is history.”
